A Software Division Executive Council is a group of software industry executives wanting to share best practices, network with peers, and provide thought leadership for events such as webinars, conferences, and roundtable discussions.

Council Board
The Executive Council board consists of up to six SIIA member executives either elected by the council members or appointed by the SIIA to participate in monthly conference calls and set the topics and general direction for the Council. Elections to the board and the appointment of the Board Chair will occur every year in October for service the following Calendar year.

Council Members
All SIIA member firms are encouraged to have at least one of their executive team participating on each council. Members of the Council are encouraged to participate in the quarterly Council meetings

Quarterly Council Meetings
Each quarter a physical gathering of Council members will occur in Boston, Silicon Valley, and London. These meetings usually consist of a morning roundtable discussion led by one of the Council members on a topic selected by the Council Board.

Webinars
The Executive Council Board will work together to set the topics for at least six webinars to be spread throughout the calendar year. The members of the Council are invited to volunteer their thought leadership as panelists or moderators on these webinars. The SIIA will manage the promotion and logistics for the webinars. Members will be allowed to attend and participate free of charge while non-members will be required to pay a nominal fee to attend.

Annual Retreat
One of the quarterly Council meetings each year will consist of a two day retreat at an appropriate venue where members from all around the world can gather and network while being instructed by outstanding professionals on important topics.

White Papers and Surveys
The Executive Council will from time to time determine important topics to be researched and developed into best practices white papers. Surveys of the members will be conducted to gather intelligence about the trends and standards being utilized by the industry.

Monthly Electronic Newsletter
Each month the SIIA staff will gather important news, blogs, events and other relevant information into an electronic newsletter that will be sent to the Council members and others who are willing to subscribe. The topics for this newsletter will be of particular interest to the Council members in their roles.
