Cloud computing represents a natural evolution of IT architecture from centralized computing to network dependent systems with distributed assets and distributed management responsibilities. In many cases, this model offers the opportunity for cost savings, flexibility and fast deployment. SIIA supports policies that seek to increase efficiencies and economic benefits of cloud computing, particularly within the government, but also that maintain a level playing field for software and IT services, whether offered locally, via traditional externally-hosted services, or by utilizing cloud computing.
