Webcast: Common Core State Standards Publisher Guidance
October 4, 2011
More than a year after the release of the voluntary common core state standards (CCSS) in English language arts and mathematics, support remains strong but implementation challenged. Among the questions: What are the appropriate criteria for determining how curriculum materials align with the scope and intent of the new standards? What processes and tools do states and districts have in place to adopt instructional resources that meet the CCSS? To what degree are/should these questions be answered in "common" and to what degree are these matters best addressed at the state and local level? This SIIA webcast helps to answer these and related questions. Developers/providers of educational content, courseware and services will gain a better understanding of the resources being developed for publishers and education decision makers to guide alignment of instructional materials to the CCSS.
Speaker: David Coleman, Founder, Student Achievement Partners, LLC and co-author of the Common Core State Standards
