    ¤ SIIA Announces the 2008 - 2009 Content Division Board of Directors
    The SIIA Content Division Board consists of representatives from member companies who are selected by the membership. Board members prioritize Content Division initiatives for the year and determine the projects, activities and events to be undertaken.

    The twelve newly elected – and re-elected – board members serving two-year terms (2008 and 2009) are:

    • Karen Christensen, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer, Berkshire Publishing Group
    • Daniel Duncan, Director - Government Affairs, The McGraw-Hill Companies

    • Hal Espo, President, Contextual Connections, LLC
    • Barry Graubart, Vice President, Product Management, Alacra
    • Kathleen Greenler Sexton, Chief Marketing Officer, Business and Legal Reports Publishing (BLR)
    • Darrell Gunter, Executive Vice President/ Chief Marketing Officer, Collexis Holdings, Inc.
    • Peter Jackson, Chief Scientist, Thomson Corporation

    These members will join eleven board members who will be serving the second year of their two-year terms. These board members are:

    ¤ Call for Presenting Companies: Innovative, young content and content-technology companies are invited to apply to present before an audience of potential business partners, customers, investors and acquirers at SIIA NetGain: the Convergence of Content & Software, May 18-20, in San Francisco. The deadline for company nominations is Monday, April 7. There is no fee to apply.

    ¤ Get Involved! The Global Information Industry Summit steering committee meets Thursdays at 11:00 am EDT/ 4:00 GMT. If you are interested in participating and helping plan and shape this global event contact Jenny Hansen.

    ¤ Make a Nomination for the SIIA Board of Directors. The SIIA Board of Directors is the team that makes decisions and sets priorities for the Association at large. These are your representatives, and you will want to have the best possible advocates for your interests.
    SIIA prides itself in having an open process for electing its volunteer leadership. The process for getting elected to the SIIA Board of Directors is simple: any full member of SIIA who feels they can commit the time and energy is eligible to run for a seat on the SIIA Board of Directors. Members are self-nominated according to the process outlined below.
    The SIIA Board has seventeen seats. In the upcoming election, we will elect eight (8) new Board members to two-year terms. If you are interested in running, you need to get your campaign statement into mwilliams@siia.net, by c.o.b. on Friday, March 28, 2008.  The complete rules and procedures can be found here.

    These programs inform, educate and provide updates on topics of interest to the information industry. Participate in person in New York City to network with your peers or participate virtually online. If you are interested in speaking at or hosting a Brown Bag Lunch in your city, please email your ideas and a brief bio describing how you or your proposed speaker can add value to the session.

    Join us at the 2nd San Francisco Wine & Chat to network with fellow software and content executives as you enjoy fine wine and hors d’oeuvres. Once again, a local winery will offer tastings, and hosts Groxis, MuseGlobal and MEI will have a list of local restaurants available for those who wish to enjoy dinner together after the event.

    Executive Face Time is an SIIA Content Division series program, broadcast live via the web. The program format is a one-on-one conversation supplemented with questions submitted by the web audience and posed through the host, Hal Espo, President, Contextual Connections, LLC.
