Judging Process

LADIES, PLEASE!The Education categories of the CODiE Awards are judged in two rounds, and the Software and Content categories take place in three rounds of judging.

First round CODiE Awards judges rank the nominees in order to determine the CODiE Award Finalists. These first round judges include representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. They have been selected through an application process in which they are reviewed for relevant experience.

The second round is a peer-review process in which SIIA member companies review the finalists and cast votes for winners in each category.

In the third round, each member company attending either of SIIA’s spring conferences [Ed Tech Industry Summit or NetGain] will receive one additional ballot to be completed onsite after reviewing the CODiEs’ Software and Content Finalist Showcase. The showcase will be held at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on the evening of Monday, May 4.

Winners will be determined from a combination of first round judge rankings and SIIA Member votes.

For Education categories, voting will be split by first round judges, who receive a 50% weight and second round votes, which will also receive a 50% weight.

For Software and Content categories, all rounds of voting will be summed and weighted. First round judges receive a 50% weight. The second and third round votes will be summed and also receive a 50% weight.

First Round Judging

FORM OF A WINNER!It is the responsibility of each nominee to promptly forward a copy of the product, any necessary access codes or other appropriate information to assigned judges by December 19, 2008.

Any of the following may be submitted to judges:

Second Round Judging

Only active SIIA Members may vote in the second round of judging. Member companies are provided one vote per company in each CODiE Awards category. Voting is held securely online from March 16, 2009 – April 17, 2009.

Campaigning for Second Round Votes
In order to keep SIIA members from being inundated with campaign material, finalist promotion is limited to the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program. Further details about the Review program will be provided when finalists are announced. Any campaigning for votes outside of the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program will result in disqualification and your product will be pulled from judging.

Third Round Judging

Each member company attending any of the two SIIA spring conferences [Ed Tech Industry Summit or NetGain] will receive one additional ballot to be completed onsite after reviewing the CODiEs’ Software and Content Finalist Showcase. The Showcase, featuring only the Software and Content Finalists, will be held on the evening of Monday, May 4, 2008 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
