Judging Timeline
First Round Review:
judging panel review
November 2008 - February 2009
First round CODiE Awards Judges are representatives from the software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. Prospective first round judges submit an application online at our CODiE Awards website, which is reviewed for relevant experience. The rankings of nominees by these preliminary judges determine the 2009 CODiE Awards Finalists.
Procedure
Nominees must forward a copy of the product, any necessary access codes or other appropriate information to assigned judges by December 19, 2008.
- Beta versions of software will not be accepted.
- Gold masters are accepted, but not recommended.
- Judges are not required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.
Any of the following may be submitted to judges:
- Full copy of nominated product (preferred, if possible)
- Website URL and login information for online-only products
- Self-running CD Demo
- Self-running online demo access
Second Round Voting:
SIIA Members Vote online
March 2009 – April 2009
Online voting opens in March
Beginning on March 16, 2009, SIIA voting members will have 30 days to review CODiE Awards Finalists in each category and select their choices online. Members are allowed one vote per company in each CODiE Awards category.
Procedure
Unlike the first round, the second round of the CODiE Awards is not an intensive product review, because SIIA Members are invited to vote in all of the categories. It is recommended that you provide an online demo or product access to allow SIIA members to become familiar with your product.
Campaigning for Second Round Votes
In order to prevent SIIA Members from being inundated with campaign materials, finalist promotion is limited to the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program (FRP) Directory. Further details about the program directory will be provided when finalists are announced in February 2009.
NOTE: Any campaigning for votes outside of the SIIA-sponsored Finalist Review Program will result in disqualification and the withdrawal of your product from the judging process.
Third Round Voting:
SIIA Members Vote On-Site
(for Software and Content Finalists ONLY)
May 4, 2009
Each member company attending either of SIIA’s spring conferences [Ed Tech industry Summit, Software Summit or SIIA NetGain] will receive one additional ballot to be completed onsite after reviewing the CODiEs’ Software and Content Finalist Showcase. The Showcase, featuring only the Software and Content Finalists, will be held at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on the evening of Monday, May 19.
2009 SIIA CODiE Award Recipients Announced:
may 5, 2009
Votes are tallied and recipients will be announced at the 2009 CODiE Awards Receptions & Gala.
Recipients will be determined from a combination of first round judges' rankings and SIIA Member votes. First round review receives a 50% weight; second and third round votes will be summed and also receive a 50% weight. Recipients of the 2009 CODiE Awards will be announced on May 5, 2009 at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco, CA.
